Nature, Relational and Body Based Therapeutics

Walk into our hills and valleys, carrying the questions, the mysterious longings and callings for which you may feel you have no direction. Breathe in this space, and I will show you all that needs to be known now. Soften your thinking and planning, and begin leaning into the welcome of my natural body, the scent of my leaves inviting your lungs to relax their holding, their needing answers. In this landscape is all you need to restore your memory of who you are, where you have come from, where you are, and where you are going. You are already there. This is what is next, right now. Pause, look, listen, and consult the wilds around and within you.”

~Soul of Earth in Conversation with and translated through Gia

I have nearly three decades of experience with therapeutic bodywork and over two decades with the practitice and facilitation of exploratory movement. Through the years, deep relationships have been created with the worlds of yoga, breath, meditation, energetic imagination, ecology, compassion, and intimacy with self and the world. I have combined these resources, and others, with the realm of psychotherapy over the last 6 years. Spending the majority of my adult life apprenticing with nature in it’s diverse forms and bodies of expression, the belief has formed that internal territories mirror external territories. All beings, elements and energies belong, are necessary, and are needed to restore balance. I approach the human soul, body, and psyche as I do any other natural landscape, with reverence, listening and deep care. At times, the terrain may be familiar and comfortable, and other times foreign lands and creatures never encountered before may emerge. We were not designed to travel alone through the territory of the unknown and known, of change, loss, praise, celebration, initiations and transformations. Collaboratively, we can cultivate deep relationships with self and other to companion and shepherd us through the many wild territiories of life and death. Supporting us in recovering that which has been separated from us in order to stay ‘welcome over whole’ in this modern world.

  • Sensing pathways through darkness and layers of grief: Developing inner senses/vision and locating guides that can build tolerance and trust within realms of mystery, loss/grief, fear, shame, residue of trauma, pain, and all that may feel unwanted and unknown.

  • Shifting axis lines and earthquakes: Navigating immediate and unexpected changes that may make ourselves and life unidentifyable.

  • Tensions and pressures that create fractures and fissures in what once felt solid and sure.

  • Swimming upstream: Responding to calls of activism, defending and protecting what you view as sacred and how this may disrupt systems/cultures.

  • Squeezing through narrow passages: navigating and confronting expectations and identities that have been placed on you by others and yourself.

  • Returning water to dry river beds: locating and guiding soul/spirit in returning to what may have become dormant/abandoned areas of life.

  • Reflection tending: dreamwork, witnessing self and others, and sitting silently with what is, what was, and may be longing to be born.

  • Restoring ancestral and ritual intelligence: Restoring practices of our deep time human, and more than human ancestry to reconnect with communication, guidance and wisdoms from the multiple realms of realities and relationships.

  • Naming your unique medicines/purpose and offerings: Daring to walk more fully into your knowings, passions and what gives meaning to your life and supports the world around you.

  • Shifting myopic/narrow vision to peripheral hawk view: Learning to widen your lens of perception/perspective and locate life from many vantage points.
